1991
On Your Marks begins working with 20 students and three staff members.
1995
On Your Marks joins Summerbridge National, a San Francisco-based educational non-profit organization aimed at increasing opportunities for under-resourced middle school students.
1997-2000
On Your Marks Summerbridge is named as a recipient of the national AmeriCorps grant. During the summer of 2005, the grant was reinstated and is still in operation.
2001
OYMSB is renamed Breakthrough Long Island to reflect the year-round academic focus of the national collaborative.
2006
BTLI pioneers the Breakthrough Leadership Institute, where former BTLI middle school students are selected to participate in leadership, college and SAT preparation during their high school years.
BTLI announces its partnership with Hofstra University's School of Education and Allied Human Services. BTLI teachers were offered the opportunity to gain undergraduate credit through a workshop geared toward developing skills in lesson planning, classroom management and student mentoring.
2007
BTLI is excited to invite over 80 students and 30 staff members to participate in the learning and fun that is a Breakthrough Summer!
